Managing production and compliance in Digit with complete traceability from ingredient to finished product
“We are a contract beverage co-packer. As shipping and receiving manager, I am responsible for all incoming and outgoing products. I am also responsible for procurement and warehouse management and serve as the Digit system administrator.”
Upstate Beverage Consultants partners with small and mid-sized beverage brands to help them scale production safely and efficiently. The Greenville-based facility produces non-alcoholic beverages under strict food safety and traceability standards, helping growing brands bring high-quality products to market faster.
“Before starting to use Digit, we really struggled to keep track of all of our raw ingredients in the facility. We didn’t have any system set up to keep track of it and would just have to go into our ingredient storage and manually hand count or write down everything we had on hand. Flying by the seat of our pants, you could say.”
As the company grew from serving two clients to more than twenty, manual systems could no longer keep up. Ingredients were misplaced, production was delayed, and compliance tracking for the Food Safety Modernization Act became increasingly difficult to manage.
